{"id":210436,"date":"2022-03-28T16:54:21","date_gmt":"2022-03-28T23:54:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.asphaltandrubber.com\/?p=210436"},"modified":"2022-04-01T23:52:04","modified_gmt":"2022-04-02T06:52:04","slug":"yamaha-eps-steering-support-system","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.asphaltandrubber.com\/news\/yamaha-eps-steering-support-system\/","title":{"rendered":"Yamaha Is Testing Motorcycle Power Steering on Dirt Bikes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Looking for stability at high speeds, and easier turning at low speeds, Yamaha has created a unique steering solution that the company is currently testing in a dirt bike application.<\/p>\n<p>Officially named the Yamaha EPS Steering Support System, this lightweight electromagnetic setup doubles as an active steering damper and power steering assist.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->As such, Yamaha&#8217;s prototype steering support system uses a torque sensor, magnet technology, and an actuator that results in steering damper benefits at high-speed and steering assist input at low-speed.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly enough, the Japanese company says that it has already perfected the setup on its e-bike lineup, and now they are curious to see if dirt bikes and other motorcycles would be suitable for the technology.<\/p>\n<div style=\"margin-left: auto;
