I don’t think they have time. When the race is over, they pack it up and get out, like the circus. There isn’t any time for servicing or cleaning.

The article has me wondering the same. You’d think they would clean the muck off these multi-million dollar bikes as soon as possible, so that crud doesn’t damage the various electrical, electronic and mechanical components.

It’d be interesting to have an article, or series of articles of “What happens now,” –following the racing crews just after the end of a race, preparing to fly themselves and the equipment to the next location on the race calendar.

I’d be interested in learning more about what happens in the week or two between races. What do the teams do, how do they service the bikes, what do the logistics of transporting teams and equipment look like?
